Echo Design Fabric

Echo Design Fabrics come from a longstanding design company based in New York. In the 1920’s, Edgar and Theresa Hyman launched Echo Scarfs. Their fabric designs took inspiration from the culture of New York City, displaying vibrancy throughout the colors, patterns, and textures. Eventually, in 1992, a division of the company geared toward home design was launched and they started designing a wide array of wallpapers and fabrics. The fabrics you see today have a fresh, modern look but still retain their ability to take you back to the beginning. Over the years, Echo Design Fabrics have included a variety of bold colors and patterns. You will find solid fabrics and modern patterns as well as classic paisley prints and so much more. Echo Design Fabrics still make use of vibrant colors so these are sure to light up a room.

Who are Edgar and Theresa Hyman?

Edgar and Theresa Hyman are the original founders of Echo Scarfs, a company that eventually led to the Echo Design Fabrics you see today. Their story begins in 1923, when they launched the company on the same day as their wedding. The company quickly grew to stand out from its competition and was one of the first companies to import foreign fabrics. The popularity of the company allowed it to survive both the Great Depression and WWII. Edgar and Theresa’s son-in-law eventually became involved in the 1950’s and, though the company had several setbacks along the way, it continued to stand strong. Edgar and Theresa’s legacy now lives on in Echo Design Fabrics which continue to be at the forefront of interior design.
