Fuse Lighting
Established in 2000, Fuse Lighting is a line of exclusively hand-crafted, luxurious lighting fixtures that makes use of the finest, most lavish materials – gem chips, gem cuts, and iridescent capiz shells. The Fuse Lighting Story: Fuse Lighting was established by designer Kevin Kolanowski in 2000, providing a line of unique, beautifully finished lighting designs for a variety of applications. Before establishing his decorative lighting company, Kevin Kolanowski obtained his BA in Interior Design at the Harrington College of Design, and worked as a designer and CEO for his own design company, Kolanowski Design Inc for 20 years, from January 1987 to 2007. In January 2000 he established Fuse Lighting as a brand of finely handcrafted lighting sold exclusively to the trade. There are several things that set this brand apart from its contemporaries. First off, Kolanowski is known for his contemporary and glamorous manner of design, incorporating gems, minerals, and other lavish items into his Fuse Lighting creations. Each creation is meticulously handcrafted, to achieve all of the specific goals in its design. A variety of finishes are also available for each lighting fixture or model, for easy customization. It is not surprising therefore to find a Fuse Lighting creation incorporated with gorgeous rock crystals, citrines, mica, agate, and exotic capiz shells. These creations are often referred to as “jewelry for the home”. The company also offers highly customized pieces, perfect for interior designers who are vying for a distinct style in their chosen environments or projects. While there are standard models available through their extensive collection, Fuse Lighting constantly works with interior designers to create stunning, unique pieces that complement the most exquisite lighting fixtures. Fuse Lighting Collections: Sconces, chandeliers, and lamps make up the entire collection of Fuse Lighting. These lighting fixtures are available in a range of metal finishes, such as brushed brass, light antique brass, dark antique brass, polished brass, polished nickel, satin nickel, oil rubbed bronze, and white powder coat. The gem embellished sconces, chandeliers, and lamps make use of gorgeous gem chips and large gems. The Alex Table Lamp can be custom made to include Amethyst chips, Carnelian chips, Citrine chips, New Jade chips, or Smoky Topaz chips. Larger gem selections include large Carnelian Rectangles, Clear Rock Crystal, Large Marine Glass, Lavender Quartz, and Striped Agate, among others. The Avalon Sconce from Fuse Lighting makes use of beautiful, polished capiz shells and is available in a range of metal finishes, such as light antique brass and polished or satin nickel. The Gamble Pendant and Sconce make use of carefully handpicked semi precious gems, such as frosted rock crystals, jade chips, and royal amethyst chips. Fuse Lighting in the Press: Only a few years after its formal establishment in 2000, Fuse Lighting creations have already been featured in many of the most prestigious design publications in the United States. One of its earliest press coverages took place through LA Times Magazines, when the magazine featured a capiz shell chandelier designed by Kevin Kolanowski in their February 2003 issue. In 2004, Esquire House and In Style Home featured the beautiful chandeliers of Fuse Lighting for their October 2004 and April 2004 issues respectively. A 15-ft capiz shell chandelier was featured in the April 2005 issue of Robb Report Luxury Home. The June 2005 Celebrity Showhouse edition of House Beautiful also featured one of the beautiful crystal chandeliers of Fuse Lighting. From 2006 to 2011, one illustrious design magazine after another has featured the works of founder/designer Kolanowski, from Luxe Magazine to Beautiful Kitchens to Coastal Living and Town & Country.
