Marvic Textiles

Marvic Fabrics.

British textiles company Marvic Textiles began as an upholstery fabric business when it was founded in 1938 by Victor Afia. After a few years in business, Afia had attracted icons of the English creative scene like decorator Syrie Maugham and artist Oliver Messel. Today, the company is based out of London and is directed by Peter Afia, the son of Marvic Textiles founder Victor Afia. Marvic fabrics are often inspired by cultures around the world. Steeped in tradition, many fabrics from Marvic Textiles reinterpret classic patterns like toile, paisley and chintz. They do so in ways that honor each pattern's history while offering a new perspective. An excellent example is Marvic Textiles’ Palme fabric, a painterly interpretation of the ancient paisley motif. Now at the helm of Marvic Textiles, Peter Afia honors his father’s legacy of curatorial excellence. Marvic fabrics are influenced by Peter Afia’s travels, the Marvic Textiles archives and his own nostalgia. In fact, Marvic Textiles’ Figaro and Susana fabrics were inspired by two of Afia’s flea market finds.

Marvic Textiles LTD

Based in London UK, Marvic Textiles LTD designs and distributes dozens of high-quality fabrics inspired by classic patterns and ancient techniques. Marvic Textiles LTD is one of the last British fabric houses to operate privately in the United Kingdom rather than under a corporate brand. According to Marvic Textiles LTD, this allows the company to produce detailed fabrics and to provide uniquely personal service. Today, Marvic Textiles LTD supplies trade professionals like interior designers, decorators, furniture makers and others with beautiful fabrics that never fall out of style. Marvic textiles can be found around the world in palaces, five-star hotels and private estates.

The company works with talented weavers and hand embroiderers in Britain, Belgium, Italy, France and Kashmir on their velvets, damasks and upholstery fabrics. A team of designers at Marvic Textiles LTD still work out of the London Marvic Design Studio, which was established way back in 1986. There, Marvic Textiles designers pour through the company’s archives, drawing inspiration from both heritage designs and contemporary styles.

New collections from Marvic Textiles LTD include their Spring 2021 range, which includes the Metro Textures collection. The Metro Textures collection was designed to complement the earlier Metro Linen fabrics collection. Elegant and understated, fabrics from the Spring 2021 Marvic Textiles LTD range are perfect for sophisticated, minimalist interiors. Favorites from the Spring 2021 collection include Amaro in Vellum, Gavia in Ecru and Vicino in Flint.
